Ernest ‘ernie’ Medina has been a colleague & friend for almost a generation & he hopes the following would further reach countless others, inspiring them to trust in the Unseen.
Dr. Medina does honor to his name by ‘ernestly’ promoting health through outdoor physical activity. A self-described ‘exercise evangelist’, at one point he opened with his sister in their local community what they called a med-play tech site (another story for another day;-)
But by far, his favorite is being under the ‘vit’ D-giving sun alongside his dogs (well, mostly Roxy, his bigger of the one able to keep up; davy & brother dasi usually waiting for them to come back);
So it usually comes down to Ernie mountain biking & Roxy (what they call the large one) happily running along, drawing out its inner wolf 😉
It almost came to a screeching, gnarly disaster one morning out in the usual hills they knew so well, when it happened:
At one point, going downhill, the retractable leash (16 feet in length) that attaches Roxy to a belt worn by the owner on his waist, was jumbled in the bike area of the head tube & front wheel (yikes!);
That would’ve been cause enough to throw rider off trail while strangling dog, but…inexplicably…
In what could only be considered a miracle, the leash “came through” the frame (don’t ask me; I’d ask you the same), & suddenly…back to normal again!!
Unbelievable, to say the least, watching that & not being able to explain it :-O
Ernie couldn’t help but just thank God in delivering both man & beast from a sure-to-happen accident!
As we collectively take a moment to thank God during this annual Thanksgiving commemoration period, let’s remember the little things in life that we often take for granted (just the act of breathing is reason enough!-), asking Him to never let us forget express our Thankfulness to still be alive.
