A young married couple joined due to their mutual attachment towards canines. They adopted a pregnant Pitbull even though they already had by then almost a dozen other dogs. It’s what happened because of that act of kindness, which put them in the good graces of dog lovers worldwide.
The couple’s wife had a past of failed relationships due to her affection for dogs, until finding the man she was to marry. As they supported each other’s dog ‘hobby’, adoption of less liked breeds became commonplace. It’s what led them to Storie, the pregnant Pitbull.
The couple sensed their decision is a life & death one for Storie. It sure was difficult because, as already mentioned at this series’ beginning, almost half of their adopted litter was composed of Pitbulls. But that 6th sense that you get when a dog’s staring straight at you with pleading eyes, won them over.
With ‘no room at the inn’, so to speak, at their home due to their abundant dog family population, they first arranged to be foster parents to Storie while the dog pound would look for a suitable owner. While all this was going on, everyone involved kept asking themselves why Storie, past due, hadn’t birthed.
Even though the young couple was already seasoned canine caretakers, even after doing online research they couldn’t get to a concrete reason on Storie’s past due status. They did come across information that made them pause on a certain possibility.
Due to their smartly instinctual nature, dogs are acutely aware of their environment. If they sensed being surrounded by a stressful environment, dogs would likely hold off on things like giving birth. That’s likely so as to protect their coming puppy litter from an undesirable outcome.
So as we ponder the already-stated issue, we’ll leave it at that for now ‘till the next one.
