A pregnant pitbull that was overdue wouldn’t give birth. She’d just been rescued from a dog pound by a young couple & thus probably holding off due to the stressful conditions. Still shocking that when taken to be cared for, as published earlier, not even the vet could believe what they were seeing it her belly.
The pitbull, named Storie, was supposed to have six puppies in her womb. Maybe dead by now. The vet had to take a gulp of water & a deep breath before explaining the out-of-the-ordinary circumstances. It seemed like a record.
An astounding 12 puppies!
Now there were six more than originally thought, to deal with as well. As surprised as everyone at the clinic was, they still had to act asap. How safe would this be for mother pitbull? Would any puppy die in the process? Moreover, would Storie make it out alive?
Now, not even the vet could give a good explanation for this canine not giving birth yet. The good news is that all puppies showed signs of life. Now what was left to do is for Storie & her caretakers to go home & get ready for what was to come.
The best guess that the vet could do is to wait for @ two days for the birthing process to start. If nothing had happened by then, the couple was to bring Storie back to the clinic. But yeah, Storie has something up the proverbial sleeve as a main reason for waiting to give up the puppies from her belly.
Leaving the vet’s office didn’t give the couple much hope. Would they potentially be preparing for a funeral? That’s something we’ll have to wait on as we find out when the next installment rolls around. Is there anything else that you’d do in this circumstance at your home?
