It seems dogs are good with experiencing a wide range of activities while enjoy them. Either being kept inside a house, or taken out to eat with humans, it’s all good with them.
That being said, the world is complex enough for us, let alone creatures that can’t rationalize. Thus a pup is bound to feel bewildered unless taught how to behave. But even after training, if they keep looking funny at us, it may be due to a number of modern human-related behaviors.
Dogs are like us in that they are created to socialize. They’re specially wired that way during the earliest time of their life. Always looking for opportunities to spend time with other dogs, &/or people. Well, really, anything they can interact with.
Whether they’re exploring, resting or playing, they rather do it with company. But here we are, often leaving dogs by themselves, whether at a clinic, shelter, or more commonly, the house. Specially on their 1st time being left alone, they’re bound to feel their owners won’t return.
After a few times, dogs are bound on getting used to be by themselves. But even then, how that experience is played out could still leave them feeling their caretakers may not be coming back. & what about barring the pooch from entering a specific place of the house?
Their whole mentality is being with their ‘pack’. But by having people distance themselves from their dogs at times, it throws the dogs up for a loop. It may explain why some breeds are more keen to wanting being left inside, lest they be even more separated from their human companions.
Now, think of the things we do throughout the day & the resulting scents that are picked up by us & our things. But then we change that smell by cleaning ourselves, clothes & equipment. I even had a neighborhood dog growl at me for the 1st time a few days ago.
We’ve known each other since last year, I would often pet it & it always looked forward to it; but right after showering I went down to the street, & instead of recognizing my face, it didn’t recognize my usual smell. I was probably as shocked at its reaction as he probably was about my smell.
More confusing smells right this way…
