We’ve been looking at recommended active canines. If you’re an active person &/or have an active family &/or most importantly, want to be more active, keep reading.
Close in characteristics to Labradors, Golden Retrievers stay by your side, are constantly energized & have an easier time getting trained. These Retrievers have longer hair, so they’ll require more upkeep in that regard than its counterpart. But due to their loyalty, giving affection comes naturally.
That makes them ideal for kids, & they also ‘play nice’ with additional pet animals. This Golden Retriever personality would also make them easier to adjust in your schedule. They’re bound to be just as content when you wanna sit down & watch something, as well as being excited once you reach for the leash.
A popular breed on many an airport around the world as search dogs, Beagles are more socially adaptable. They’re also seen as more sensitive, so are more ideal for younger families. Being more engaged in wanting to play also endears them to children.
When compared to the other active breeds, Beagles could take longer to learn tricks &/or be trained. The positive tradeoff is them being less stressed when placed in novel situations. That means it shouldn’t be a problem when going out with the family & doing stuff with them in other places.
Beagles mix well with other pooches. Same for getting to meet unfamiliar humans. This built-in curiosity factor makes them more prone to go off on their own. Thus for their own protection, keeping Beagles on the leash is recommended. Also goes without saying, you’d also want to have a fence around your place.
Next up, let’s finish up by coming back to read about less common breeds, such as the Irish Setter, Vizsla & the Australian Shepherd. ‘Till then, stay active in the outdoors!
